Dear London, (Part 7)

With Taylor Cadona

How wonderful you are!

From every corner of the world we have gathered here and yet everyday we set our alarms for the same go, go, go. Morning commutes, work meetings, lunches with colleagues, dinner with friends, gym and repeat. The sweet hum of the daily hustle and bustle never stops.

But is that hum an illusion? Is the constant go, go, go a way for you to shelter and hide from the truth. That you are longing for something more. A sense of belonging, a purpose, a home?

Today I pray, dear London, that you will find home...

That you will find home in the smile of the person sitting across from you on your morning commute. That you will home, in the leadership of your boss in your work meetings. That you will find home, in the happiness of your work colleague as you go to lunch together. That you will find home, in the friends you can lean on and confide in at dinner. That you find home in the gym receptionist who is always eager to help.

But most importantly that through each of these people, you find home in the one who loves you the most and in His church, Jesus Christ. For the church in front of me, blessed enough to already know His love, I pray this:

I pray that the person sitting across from you on the tube will find home in your smile.

I pray that your work team will find home in your leadership during meetings.

I pray that your colleagues will find home in your happiness at lunch.

I pray that your friends will find home as they confide in you at dinner.

I pray that those who encounter you will find home in your eagerness to help.

Let us be the reflection and mirror of the one who loves London the most, and let them know that here in His church they are always home.

Join us in church this Sunday in Parsons Green. Click here for info and to see what’s coming up this month.
